Got some 25mm spacers installed on the Miata. The kind that are hubcentric and have their own studs. Here’s some before shots:
As you can see the tire/wheel is recessed pretty damn deep into the fender, which flares out for absolutely no reason.
Now the tire sits out an inch farther, widening the vehicles track by two inches and filling out the wheel well much nicer. Next up I’m hoping to replace my totally trashed 24 year old stock struts with something a bit nicer and a bit more adjustable.

I hate that look so much, because you get that tucked look when you lower it.

I hate tucking. Love me some meaty stance (usable sidewall, lowered functionally)

The flared fender is because Mazda knew you would need wider/bigger tires for track days bro!
But I hate how recessed the stock wheels are inside the fenders of my NA.

Looks better, and spacers are really not as dangerous as some make them out to be.

How much has the steering effort increased at low speeds?

Yeah. Spec miata guys run then all the time, though they can’t agree on if they help or hurt handling

None, as far as I can tell

I find that a little hard to believe given all the scrub radius you’ve added, but perhaps the rack has ample power to compensate.

I mean, its a 2000lb car on bicycle width tires with power steering. I noticed no change.
